Harada Dali (Harhar Dal tampered with cumin seeds and bayleaf)
Ingredients:

Hahhar Dal 1 cup, washed in cold water.
dry chilli 1 (sukhila lanka)
cumin seeds 1 teaspoon (jeera)
bay leaf 1(teja patra)
salt for taste(luna),
turmeric powder 1 tea spoon(haladi)
vegetable oil 1 tablespoon
Method:
1: Place a heavy bottomed pan or pressure cooker on flame. Add oil.
2: When the oil heats up, add the cumin seeds. when the seeds starts spluteering, add dry chilli, bay leaf.
3: add washed dal and more than 2 times water. add turmeric powder and salt to taste. when it water starts boiling, cover with a lid. Let the dal cook properly in medium flame.
In case of pressure cooking, 3 whistles will be enough to cook.
4: once dal is cooked properly, mix it properly, use a hand blender(dali ghotani in odia) if needed. serve hot with steam rice.
Goes Well with:
Dal is served as side dish with Steam Rice or hot rottis/tortillas.
