Puri Jagannath Mandir Dali
In Puri Jagannath temple, the mahaprasad that is served will always have this dish with Anna(rice), mahura(mix veg), besara(rai with mustard seeds) and khatta(sweet dates chatni) and many more(56 items)
One uniqueness that Mahaprasad has is you will always be satisfied and full with what ever quantity of prasad you consume.

this recipe was shared by one from Jagannath temple it self in one of the articles. i tried it at home, and it turned out to be delicious.
Serves:4

Ingredients:

2 cups of Chana dal - washed in cold water.
1/4 cup grated coconut
Grind the below all together:
(
2 cinnamon sticks
4 black cardamom
4 cloves
1 tsp whole black pepper powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
)
salt, turmeric, 1 table spoon of sugar
1 tsp clarified butter
1 spoon pancha phutana
(cumin, mustard, fennel, fenu greek)
Process:
----------
1. Boil the clean chana dal in hot water
and add salt, turmeric and sugar
Cook until dal is cooked properly and dal is thick
2. Add the masala to the dal and simmer it for
another 10 minutes.
3. In a heavy bottomed pan, heat clarified butter. Add pancha phutan seeds. Once it starts fluterring, add it to the dal and mix properly.
Goes well with:
Ghia Anna or Kanika and besara or mahura.
